Our Story
Trolltunga AS is owned by Ullensvang Municipality and is dedicated to providing every hiker with a safe and memorable experience at Trolltunga.
We are uncompromising when it comes to the safety of our visitors and the protection of our beautiful but fragile mountain environment. We build and maintain hiking trails, information boards, toilets, and emergency shelters, provide mountain warden services, and upkeep the 5.4 km long Skjeggedalsvegen. In addition, we manage parking facilities at the trailheads and organise shuttle buses. All our revenue is reinvested to ensure that everyone can enjoy a safe and rewarding experience in the mountains and at Trolltunga.

Trolltunga is one of Norway’s most famous attractions and is considered the country’s most spectacular rock formation. Over the past decade, the number of visitors has increased from under a thousand to over 80,000 hikers annually.
The growing popularity poses several challenges. Trolltunga AS has therefore taken important measures to protect the beautiful but vulnerable high mountain nature.
